Thames Amateur Astronomical Society was formed in 1980, in the hills of Southeastern, CT. Our friendly members all have a passion for learning, sharing, and most of all, enjoying the night sky. We gather regularly at a dark field in Salem, CT, where the horizons are low, and the atmosphere is casual. There is a diverse level of equipment amongst the members, and there are usually several telescopes setup on good observing weekends. The official observing schedule is for Fridays/Saturdays closest to the New Moon. Impromptu observing sessions can and will occur at the drop of a hat. But most importantly everyone here gets along, and new faces are always welcome. |
